Xray, Ultrasound and ECG
There is a dedicated imaging room which houses our X-ray and ultrasound machines. These machines allow us to look inside your pet for any problems. With X-rays we can look at a range of areas, from bones and joints to the heart and lungs, or looking for foreign bodies in the abdomen. We have an automatic X-ray processor to help give speedy results. Ultrasound lets us look in detail at the internal organs and allows pregnancy diagnosis at an early stage. It is not painful and only requires clipping a small amount of hair away – most animals will sit quite happily without sedation.
We also have an ECG (electrocardiogram) machine which can read the electrical activity in the heart to help us diagnose different types of heart problems.
