Welcome
Please come in to see our new Veterinary Practice, which we have designed with our pets and clients in mind. We were established over 60 years ago in Pollokshields – first as Weir & Thomson, then as Stead & Galloway.
We recently moved to more spacious and comfortable premises in Ibrox. We have easy off-street parking facilities including a designated disabled parking bay. Disabled access is available throughout the entire practice. The practice is easily accessible from the M77 and the M8 (J23 westbound and J24 eastbound.) The nearest underground station is Ibrox and there are various bus routes that stop near by.
Our clients north of the river Clyde can easily reach us by the Clyde Arch Bridge (also known as the Squinty Bridge) situated near the BBC headquarters.
We are one of very few Veterinary Surgeries in Glasgow accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) as a Tier 2 Veterinary Practice. This means that we conform to the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme. To be awarded this status, we have met strict criteria for provision of facilities, diagnostic equipment (such as ECG, ultrasound, laboratory analysis including microscopes), nursing care, anaesthesia and medications.
We are also approved by the RCVS as a Training Practice for Veterinary Nurses, and have been training nurses for over 30 years
Our patient accommodation includes separate wards for dogs and cats, with a range of kennel sizes to suit each pet. We have an isolation ward available for infectious or contagious patients to help prevent the spread of disease.
Do come in and visit us. You’re very welcome to have a look around the practice – so you can see what we can offer you!
